DescriptionWilliam Huggins is very interested in Larmor's results regarding comets' tails, both direction and brightness. This causes Huggins to recall the attempt to determine brighness by moonlight in 1881 by Janssen of Tebbutt's Comet. He then discusses his photographs which have revealed N, and he has also detected Fraunhofer lines. He is sending a private letter of condolence to [Marie] Curie for the shock passing of her husband [Pierre Curie]. Lastly, Huggins discusses the treatment of uranium residue, and the expense of this. Margaret Huggoms is saddened for [Marie] Curie and shares her reflections on loneliness in sorrow. She comments on how enjoyable she finds Larmor's letters and that he misses his secretarial correspondence with her husband. She ends with a joke about the Comet of 1881.
