Description | He will be delighted to see Larmor on Thursday and provides advice about travelling to Burlington House. Huggins notes that there are seious reasons against putting the Royal Society instruments in storage, but [Hugh Frank] Newall has confirmed that he would be willing to consider taking them instead. They must now discuss the practicalities of this handover. He asks if Larmor would prefer to postpone his visit until Newall has made his decision. Huggins is glad to have proofs of Larmor's obituary of Lord Kelvin. He ends with an update of [Jacob Karl Ernst] Halm, who 'at the Cape has had a great triumph in the accuracy of his observations of motions in the line of sight'. |
