| Description | Others have written to Larmor about Mr Marshall, who is competing for a professorship in Latin at Galway. They may not have mentioned that the Principal, a professor of Greek is almost always absent and Marshall does most of the department's work. Evans, who has just received first class honours in Classics, was prepared by Marshall and Johnston thinks a note to Dr Moffett pointing out such experience would be helpful. Johnston is thinking of writing a book on quaternions and would like to consult Larmor about it. He discusses some of his ideas, including work which contradictions Tait's metaphysical proof that the quaterion system is the only algebra applicable to space of three dimensions. He thinks that Brill might be interested. |
