Title | Letter from Alex [Alexander] Larmor, 24 Mark Street, Portrush, to Joseph [Larmor] |
Creator | Larmor; Alexander (d.1936); Irish mathematician and science educator |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 6 November 1899 |
Description | He is sending the bulk of the marks on the pure mathematics paper to Hayward, the remainder to follow. He has not received any forms from him yet. He encloses a copy of the paper with two corrections, desirable for the calendar. He encloses a note from Mr. Sinclair on Alexander's candidature for Assistant Secretary for Technical Education under the new Act. Plunkett has been appointed Vice-President and staff will be appointed soon. He thinks the Belfast Chamber of Commerce will have influence, but cannot think of any Cambridge people who would, except perhaps Lord Rayleigh. Alexander has £200 to invest and asks Joseph to let him know if he hears of anything suitable. |
