Title | Letter from G P [Gerald Ponsonby] Lenox-Conyngham, Desertlyn, 69 Grange Road, Cambridge, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Conyngham; Sir Gerald Ponsonby Lenox- (1866-1956); Irish geodecist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 9 May 1932 |
Description | He has Larmor's letter and greatly regrets that he is resigning from the committee. Larmor's name is on the list until 31 December and Lenox-Conyngham had no idea of his intention. He wonders if he can still persuade Larmir to attend the lunch as his guest. The position of the Department of Geodesy and Geophyics came about through gradual growth and the merger of the 'geo' subjects, the idea for which emerged simultaneously. He thinks the change will do good and will be immediately noticeable. |
