| Description | Larmor's letter was of great interest and he would like to have further talk on the examination question, upon which Lodge has some ideas. Lodge did write the letter to 'Nature' for [John Henry] Poynting, 'but it is better anonymous'. His difficulty with examinations is that he will have to deal with many subjects and it would be impossible to express opinions on arts topics, although he may have them. He is going to Berkhampstead on 7 July and could visit Cambridge on the way if it was not so inaccessible. He thinks the British Association Committee will meet in the afternoon. Lodge would like help about ions. He had not intended to go until it was arranged that Larmor should be President. |
