Title | Letter from Oliver [Joseph] Lodge, The University, Edmund Steet, Birmingham, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Lodge; Sir Oliver Joseph (1851-1940); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 9 February 1909 |
Description | He is sorry to load Larmor with another paper so soon, but he intends to communicate a work by an ex-student. 'The measurement of dielectric constants by torsional vibration...', by Professor W.M. [William Mandell] Thornton of Armstrong College, Newcastle. Lodge will enclose two letters received from Thornton, one of which was in response to Lodge's objections made before reading the paper, the other answering his points. Larmor should keep these until he reads the paper, which Lodge has just returned to Thornton with some suggestions. |
