| Description | He was afraid that the examinership would not tempt Larmor and he has no doubt that Larmor would have been elected. He congratulates Larmor on solving 'the riddle of the universe' but is disappointed that atoms are vortices. Lamb admits he must 'bend one's prejudices to the facts'. He promised to trouble Larmor with some points about the second edition of his book [Hydrodynamics (1895)] and asks for Larmor's ideas on a list of five topics, which he follows with a chapter list and an appeal for Larmor to help him with proof sheets. |
