TitleLetter from Horace Lamb, 6 Wilbraham Road, Fallowfield, Manchester, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorLamb; Sir Horace (1849-1934); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date10 June 1909
DescriptionHe was sorry to hear about [John Edensor] Littlewood's paper. The results are probably right and valuable, but he may have been in too great a hurry to publish. Many young men treat this like an examination, 'to get the thing out somehow'. He has written to Littlewood advising him to withdraw the paper for further consideration. Lamb will try to find out about 'the Mackinnon people'.
