TitleLetter from Louis T [Trenchard] More, 305 Pike Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorMore; Louis Trenchard (1870-1944); American physicist and biographer
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date17 November 1907
DescriptionHe has wanted to write to Larmor for some time, to say how much he had enjoyed and profited his time in Cambridge. He has been working on one or two problems and wished for Larmor's opinion on ions and 'their contrary habits'. He has gathered about 15 advanced students who listen to him on the topic, but he thinks he makes 'a hash' of Larmor's and [Joseph John] Thomson's doctrines. He thinks he will get good results from equipment they have built for measuring metal fatique and velocity of ions. He sends his reprints. He has heard nothing from Dr [Daniel Frost] Comstock, and sends good wishes to Mr. and Mrs, Foxwell.
