TitleLetter from [Ernest Fox] Nichols, Columbia University, Department of Physics, Phoenix Laboratory, New York City, to Sir Joseph [Larmor]
CreatorNichols; Ernest Fox (1869-1924); American physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date17 July 1909
DescriptionNichols has succumbed to temptation and has gone to Dartmouth College, but Larmor was wrong in thinking that he would not go to Winnipeg as planned. He hopes that Larmor will be there. He has written to Rutherford about a paper, the title of which was interesting, but the results were meagre. Nichols thinks it a pleasure to have a laboratory which does not shake; at Columbia much effort was dedicated to shutting out the city's disturbances. Nichols' family will be in Winnipeg with him and they hope to bring Larmor back by way of Dartmouth.
