TitleLetter from W D [William Davidson] Niven, Royal Naval College, Greenwich, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorNiven; Sir William Davidson (1842-1917); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date7 December 1892
DescriptionHe thanks Larmor for the handsome volume of his papers, many of which he had not seen. He has read them casually, coming across his remarks on magnetic disturbances in the Earth which was striking, especially as he had lately heard Lord Kelvin's address to the Royal Society. Much of what he said was contained in Larmor's article, and Kelvin's attention should be drawn to it. Niven may have the opportunity to do so at Council. Niven enjoyed Larmor's visit very much.
