Description | Niven invites Larmor to stay, once Cambridge has done with him and the House of Commons may be sitting. He will have a room in which to transact business. C.S. Jackson wrote to him about educational matters in the army, but said that he would not bring them to Larmor's attention until he had settled down to his work as a Member [of Parliament]; a question might be put to Mr. [Richard Burdon] Haldane. Niven went to the Mathematical Society and has proposed [Horace] Lamb for the De Morgan prize. [William Henry] Young was mentioned and [William] Burnside suggested [George Ballard] Matthews at Niven's instigation. |
