| Description | Larmor's note on optically active substances was welcome. Pope discusses chemical substitution and symmetry. What Larmor terms the partial enantiomorphs are easily separated, as their physical properties always differ considerably, and this is also true when four or five centres of asymmetry are present and only one differs between two compounds. He notes how bromine is taken up by his substance, commenting upon the surprising result, which he will need to elucidate further. |
