TitleLetter from J H [John Henry] Poynting, 10 Ampton Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorPoynting; John Henry (1852-1914); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date3 March 1912
DescriptionHe has sent in his wire twisting paper for the Proceedings ['On the changes in the dimensions of a steel wire when twisted, and on the pressure of distortional waves in steel']. He thinks it will run to thirty pages but if that is beyond the limit, he hopes that might be overlooked as he wishes to publish in the Proceedings. If Larmor is inexorable, he will submit for the Philosophical Transactions. He has acknowldged Larmor's help inadequately, afraid that he would be held responsible for any errors that Poytning had made.
