| Description | Ramsay gives an account of obtaining spectrum photographs and he explains their significance at length. He will write to [Ernest] Rutherford explaining everything, and for priority there is little doubt that his images came before Rutherford's, although Ramsay held back to get better measurements. He thinks both care about accuracy, unless he misjudges Rutherford, but noting Ramsay and [John Norman] Collie's 1903 work. Ramsay is leaving for Collie's country seat on Skye, and then for the British Association meeting in Dublin. |
