| Description | He is sending a letter as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the N.P.L. [National Physical Laboratory] expressing regret at Schuster's recent letter resigning his position on the Research Committee, he wishes to add a personal note. Schuster's help when Glazebrook began at the Cavendish in 1876-77 was of the greatest value. In difficult years it was important to the Laboratory to have a Secretary of the Royal Society to whom he could talk freely, and particularly important in negiotiating the transfer to the Research Department. After Glazebrook left he knew that matters were in safe hands. They may feel pleasure in co-opertaing to place the N.P.L. in its present position. |
