| Description | Folkes previously recommended [John] Bamber FRS as the best male midwife. Bamber being unavailable due to illness Montagu asks for another recommendation. | Notes | This pregnancy likely did not result in a living child, the last living child of the Montagus' was Edward born 1725. This letter is undated. Most of the correspondence between Montagu and Folkes in this collection is dated 1733-1743. Both doctors mentioned outlived the Montagus so this does not narrow the likely date of the letter. |
