TitleLetter, Edward James Wayland, to Percy George Hamnall Boswell
Date17 and 18 April 1935
DescriptionReacts with surprise at Boswell's news that the Royal Geographical Society has awarded Wayland the Victoria Medal - he has heard nothing about it. He has launched his campaign to acquire the Human Trypanosomiosis Institute buildings. Thanks Boswell for a reprint and asks if the Aberdeen proceedings of the British Association have been published. [Next day] He has just seen a local press account of the Victoria Medal award and thanks Boswell for his congratulations. Leakey's prediction about the 'African Prehistoric Research Expedition' may come true. "Why does Cambridge turn out Archaeologists devoid of scientific grounding?" He has received a letter from Bowen, in whom he has great faith, and is sending him some samples. Discusses local geological issues.
