TitleCopy letter, Percy George Hamnall Boswell, to Dr. Herbert Spencer Harrison, Royal Anthropological Institute, 52 Upper Bedford Place
Date29 October 1935
DescriptionThanking Harrison for his letter of 26 October and stating that he is happy to co-operate with the Royal Anthropological Institute in ensuring that British archaeology does not suffer. However he is unable to serve on the proposed committee - he cannot be both witness and judge. He agrees that Dr. Leakey should be given the opportunity to explain his position. He has the option of the scientific press or by stating his case before a learned society, perhaps as part of a discussion. Boswell does not like the idea of a committee, which savours of a court of enquiry into an intentional misdemeanour.
