DescriptionWayland may be wrong, but Solomon seems to coming under the influence of O'Brien, whose policy is to tackle one job after another but finish none. Wayland thinks the results will not be of much value. He managed to miss important evidence at Nsongezi. He must please himself as to what he does - but the expedition is not equipped for a proper job and Solomon is hampered because of it. He thinks Solomon may be wasting his time, but they will meet before long and Wayland will be able to gather more information.
