| Description | Gives thanks for the reprinted papers of Fraser and Stanton which he has received. The early Asiatic side of research into beriberi has largely been forgotten in favour of studies in England and America. Remiscences of their time in Malay Archipelago and Saigon. Grijn has been in Holland since 1917 and has moved from tropical hygiene and bacteriology into physiology. His wife is content at Wageninen but the place wants a good laboratory - he has some chance of moving to Groningen. Presently he is experimenting on rats.
Mrs Grijn De Wilde asks for personal information in a postscript, enquiring if Stanton is in Kuala Lumpur and if he is married. Gives news of mutual acquaintances and writes that there is always room for Stanton, should he visit Holland. She still collects stamps and asks for examples from the Malay States and other British colonies. |
