Creator | Strahan; George (1839-1911) British army oficer and surveyor |
Recipient | Boys; Sir Charles Vernon (1855-1944); British physicist and inventor |
Date | 14 January 1890 |
Description | Thanks Boys for sending quartz fibres. They arrived in perfect condition and are exactly what was required. The finer ones may be unmanageable, but he will try them on higher powers, while the coarser fibres will be used on ordinary theodolites. He is following Boys's experiments on the gravitational constant with great interest in 'Nature', stating that their fields are closely aligned. |
