TitleLetter from 'M.S.' [Marianne Skerrett], B. [Buckingham] Palace, to 'My dear Edward' [Kater]
CreatorSkerrett; Marianne (1793-1887); British courtier
RecipientKater; Edward (1816-1866); British photographer
Date29 April [no year]
DescriptionIf, as he says, the calotype will not be ready for a day or two, it would be best to wait until May Day is over. The Queen [Victoria] desires Marianne to send a print of the Royal family to him, after [Franz Xavier] Winterhalter, and by Leon Noel 'a very good artist in lithography'. It will be a remembrance of the trouble he lately took with the calotypes, which are all in the Queen's book. She is glad he is going on the party which will be a beautiful visit, but she will not go. The Prince of Wales will go in Highland dress and she gives further details.
