DescriptionPreston's letter gave him pleasure at the thought of him visiting Blythswood. He is taking the cure in Harrogate, and gives his subsequent engagements: Sir T. [Thomas] Lipton will visit, then he has work preparing to visit America. Preston may visit between 1 and 20 August. Blythswood has an assitant and they are 'arranging a campaign' but he is sure that Preston would be able to advise him on his investigation. He is arranging for concave gratings to be made and is thinking of how to get rid of destabilising effects. He gives travel advice to Preston, saying thst he must realy his time of arrival as there are no cabs at Renfrew, and he will send an automobile. He has had letters from Kelvin, Silvanus P Thomson and G [George] Fitzgerald that week and he quotes from Kelvin.
