AdminHistory | Born in Chiswick in 1910, Maurice Stevenson Bartlett won a scholarship to Latymer Upper School. In 1929, he was awarded a state scholarship to Queens' College, Cambridge, where he read mathematics. There he enjoyed attending a variety of lectures with notable academics, including John Wishart, Arthur Eddington and Paul Dirac. After Cambridge he held a variety of posts, both in industry (at the ICI Agricultural Research Station) and in academia (at University of Cambridge, University of Manchester, University College London, University of Oxford). He was an active member of the Royal Society and the Royal Statistical Society. |
