OtherInfoOne of the most significant areas of condensed matter physics for 30 years has been the study of the electronic properties of low dimensional semiconductor systems. This has given rise to such advances as the Quantum Hall Effect and Fractional Quantum Hall Effect, low dimensional localisation and interaction effects, one dimensional transport, quantum dots and a host of related topics as well as devices based on low dimensional transport. The pioneering research of Alan Fowler laid down the foundations of low dimensional physics and has contributed vastly to this entire body of work.
Named as a co-inventor in nine U.S. Patents.
