| Description | The Society has no printed rules with regard to the Royal Society medals. An account of the medals and the subjects for which they are awarded is contained in the 'Encyclopedia Britannica', in Weld's 'History of the Royal Society', and elsewhere. The matter is not one for competition in the ordinary sense, the medals being awarded for discoveries of world-wide fame. It makes no difference at all in what journal the discovery is published. |
