Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, care of Professor Heger, Rue des Drapiers 35, Brussels, Belgium |
Date | 28 October 1895 |
Description | Rix notes 'the letter' was sent to the Grosvenor Hotel at one o'clock. The night porter seems to have overlooked it.
The letter Rix inclosed from Professor [Thomas George] Bonney is on two sheets; one about medals which will perhaps keep, and the other is a long letter about the Coral Reef business. Rix quotes the last paragraph of this which states that if the Society takes the matter up, Bonney thinks it should be in the hands of a rather small executive committee composed mainly of experts appointed by the Society, with a practical engineer for a chairman and the secretary, in addition to Sollas, resident in London.
Rix sends Foster this line in case he should wish to write at once to some of these experts to ascertain if they might be willing to serve, or at least so that Foster can consider the subject. |
