Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 13 January 1896 |
Description | Rix reports that M. Lippmann has written to Lord Kelvin [William Thomson] to accept 23 April as the date for the discussion meeting, so he asks whether this has to come before Council.
He also encloses a letter from Dr Gadow providing an answer to Rix's query about when they might expect his blocks. Rix cannot tell whether he intends to send them to Professor [Edwin Ray] Lankester or if he means to do so himself. As Rix has not been in communication with Lankester, he feels it is safer to send the letter and sketches to Foster to prevent any confusion.
Professor [Oliver Joseph] Lodge has said that he will resign from the Government Grant Board so that he may apply for a grant, and Rix asks if this is necessary. |
