TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date25 November 1895
DescriptionRix asks at what time the Council will meet on 5 December as he needs to send out the summonses for it on the day after tomorrow.

He notes that the inclosed from Joseph Norman Lockyer contains messages for Foster, and suggests that he had better write to Roberts-Austen to inform him what he decides about the table. With regard to the cigars, Rix states that it does not matter to him whether Kennedy hands them round or if a waiter does. Rix refers to the one previous problem they have had with the cigars.

Incloses a letter from Roland Trimen, and Rix asks if he should send him the 'Report to Council', so encloses an addressed envelope so that Foster may post direct to him whatever he thinks proper.

He also notes that the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford declines toast of the Royal Society, and states that Foster will have to let Sir Joseph Lister know who he substitutes.
