Title | Copy letter from A H White, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], [Secretary, Royal Society] |
Date | 21 August 1896 |
Description | White is sending for Rayleigh's approval, Mr J S Townsend's manuscript paper on Magnetization of Liquids, with the referee's criticisms, and the author's alterations and remarks [not attached]. If approved by Rayleigh, White can proceed with the printing. The illustrations all seem suitable for ordinary process blocks.
Mr [George Frederick Charles] Searle has also returned his manuscript on Electric Convection but White does not think he need trouble Rayleigh by sending him this. The principal recommendation was that only the first 67 of the 90 odd pages should be printed. The author agrees and has also re-cast a paragraph on page three as suggested. Asks if he may send this to the printers as well.
White now has proofs of Professor [Jagadis Chunder] Bose's ''Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' paper. Asks if he should post them out to Calcutta for correction or send them to Rayleigh. The paper makes up ten to twelve pages.
White is also posting [William de Wiveleslie] Abney and [Thomas Edward] Thorpe's 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' proof to pass for press. |
