| Description | Harrison reports that the Catalogue Committee meeting is creating a lot of correspondence, and that it has become clear that it cannot be held until next week, which was reinforced by Dr Armstrong's letter stating that he could not attend until the following week. Dr Michael Foster has proposed in a letter that it be held the same day as the 'Queen's Meeting', the date of which has just been set by the President of the Royal Society, in a letter received that day, as Tuesday 8 February. The 8 February is a Monday, so Harrison has written to ascertain if he meant the Monday or Tuesday of that week. Once he has settled the matter and confirmed the date as convenient with Armstrong, he will summon the meeting. Also, once the date has been settled, he will send out the circular letter to Presidents of the Learned Societies. That morning, Foster has sent additions to the list supplied by Rucker - the Geographical and Antiquaries, and Anthropological and Royal Institutions.
Professor Edward Albert Schafer did not visit yesterday, so he is now sending Rucker's note on to him.
Harrison encloses a revise of the draft letter relating to 'Unification of Time', and states that he felt he had to rewrite the fifth paragraph, but he encloses the original marked proof so that if he does not like the rewritten paragraph he can mark his amendments and return it to be printed off. |
