Description | Foster has been directed to reply to their letter of 26 January, reference 'No. 26513/96', enclosing a copy of a communication from the Secretary of the British South Africa Company of 24 December 1896 and a letter from Mr Selous. He states that the Committee of the Royal Society, in charge of the Tsetse Fly Enquiry, recognise the value of Selous' experience as a hunter but believe, from careful study of his letter, that he has not fully understood the enquiry and so they suggest a personal interview to discuss the subject. Selous left the country before such a meeting could occur, but Foster hopes that it may be possible upon his return. |
