Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 29 April 1897 |
Description | Rucker finds three papers awaiting his return. The first is [Joseph] Larmor's 'Dynamical Theory of the Electric and Luminiferous Medium, part III' for the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' and he has accepted the abstract for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'. Fitzgerald and J J Thomson were the referees before and of course would be very good. If Glazebrook thinks Thomson has had enough lately, Rucker wonders if Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] would take it.
The second paper is E B H Wade's paper on 'a new method of Determining the Vapour Pressures of Solutions'. Rucker has accepted the abstract for the 'Proceedings' but as the paper is for the 'Philosophical Transaction' they need referees. Thinks Ramsay and Carey Foster or Joly would do.
The third paper is T Andrews 'on the micro-structure of pure gold'. He presumes this is for the 'Proceedings' but would like Roberts-Austen to look at it before it is accepted. Asks if Glazebrook agrees to this. |
