Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Professor Osborne Reynolds, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 31 May 1897 |
Description | Before proceedings with the printing of Reynolds' paper which formed the basis of the Bakerian Lecture, Harrison is desired by the Committee of Papers to call his attention to the following particulars in which they think the paper might be improved for the purposes of publication.
Explains why they think parts one and two should be printed consecutively, with part two recast to avoid repetition of descriptive matter already given in part one.
The Committee think there is no need to reproduce all the photographic plates. Of plates one to five, plate three should suffice to give a general idea of the arrangement of the apparatus. The smaller photographs which are inserted in the text of part one, should be retained.
Reynolds' results are stated throughout in gravitation units and they think it would be well if the absolute value were added. |
