Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Clements Robert Markham, Fellow of the Royal Society, President of the Royal Geographical Society |
Date | 17 November 1899 |
Description | Markham's letter of the 14th to the President [Joseph Lister] was considered by the President and Council yesterday who expressed their decision with a resolution which in essence states that the President and Council are of the opinion that the best course would be to authorize the Treasurers of the fund to pay any accounts presented to them by the Executive Committee which are clearly in accordance with the broad lines of the Programme, as approved by the Joint Antarctic Committee. The President and Council also thought it essential that the two members of the Executive Committee representing the Royal Society should be members of the Joint Committee, and Foster hopes the Royal Geographical Society will see no objection to their being added to the Committee. |
