Date | 12 December 1899 |

The President and Council ask for information on the fact that the application of the JPE Committee for a grant of £500 was dated 26th January 1899 and contained the statement that it was 'not intended to purchase any new instruments'. The President and Council wish to know what steps were taken before this decision was arrived at, to determine who was likely to take part in the Expedition, and whether any of such observers would want new instruments. Asks for a reply by next Council, 18th January 1900. |
