Description | Response to Lendenfeld''s letter of 20 May, Rix gives details of their account from Werner & Winter.
As the Royal Society declined to pay for five extra copies, the price paid was less than that the amount detailed, and with the value of the mark then quoted, amounted to 203 pounds, one shilling and two pence. Rix quotes from the letter from Werner & Winter, and states that this brings them to within a few shillings of the 300 pounds for the plates. |
