| Description | At the request of Mr Borcherevinck, two volumes of meteorological observations taken in Antarctic regions have been deposited by Mr Bernacchi. The President and Council ask if Shaw thinks these observations should all be reduced and if so, whether this task could be undertaken under the auspices of the Meteorological Council. Sir M Foster and Rucker informed Borcherevinvk that the Society had no fund for the reduction of observations but that it is possible Sir G Newnes may be able to bear the cost. It would add to the value of Shaw's report if he could estimate the cost involved.
Bernacchi is not sure if he will have another engagement in the new year, but if not he would like to assist in the reduction of the observations, and would expect to be paid. Provides Bernacchi's address. |
