| Description | In reply to the Messrs enquiry of 12 August, the only published General Index to the 'Phiolosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' extends from volumes one to 120. The 'Catalogue of Scientific Papers' includes the authors name and title of published papers in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' from 1800 onwards, along with many others, but there is not at present a classified or subject index to these volumes. An index of this kind has been in hand for some time under the superintendence of the Royal Society. |
