Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Abbott Herdman, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 18 November 1901 |
Description | Herdman may remember that when Professor [Karl] Pearson's paper on 'Homotyposes' was under discussion by the Zoology Committee, some criticisms of Mr Bateson's were stated in connection with his report on the paper and it was resolved that Pearson's paper be recommended for publication in the 'Philolosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' and that Bateson's criticisms on the paper be accepted as a paper.
Pearson's paper has now been published and Bateson has sent in his criticisms but with many additions to the form in which they were presented to Herdman's Committee and he hesitates to act directly on the Committee's resolution without further authority. Encloses Bateson's communication [not enclosed] and asks for it to be returned with Herdman' instructions. |
