Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Joseph Norman Lockyer, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 15 January 1902 |
Description | The Secretaries did not put Lockyer's paper down for 23 January because the list of papers settled for that day was otherwise exclusively biological. They propose 30 January instead if this would suit.
Regarding the Indian Observatories matter, the opinions of the Committee members were collected but the Chairman of the Committee considered they could not be adequately discussed in the absence of reports giving the list of instruments already in use at Kodaikanal. The India Office was communicated with and undertook to obtain a list as soon as possible. In the meantime the meeting of the Committee was held over but it is now proposed to have a meeting next week without waiting any longer and Harrison is already in communication with the chairman to fix a time. |
