Description | Harrison has been looking up the subject referred to in Joly's letter of the 15 March to Dr Joseph Larmor. It appears that it must be due to some misunderstanding that the publication of Cullum's observations has been delayed for so long. The last minute on that matter from the Physics Committee last year says Cullum was placed in contact with Dr [Charles] Chree regarding the latter's remarks, and with a view to being put in a suitable form for 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'.
It appears Chree and Cullum were in communication, but there is no trace with Harrison of Cullum's letter making an offer. If Cullum wrote personally to [Arthur William] Rucker it is possible it may have been overlooked, as he is busy with his Principalship of London University. |
