Description | Sir M Foster wished James to write a line respecting Darwin's telegram to him. James enquired at the Admiralty of the latest date to send a letter from England and received a reply that a letter should be despatched to Hobart [Tasmania, to Captain R F Scott] care of the 'Morning', to arrive on or before 30 November. Has ascertained that the mails to Hobart are via Italy, lists dates, and transit takes about 35 days. The letters in question were delivered to the Royal Geographical Society on Saturday morning. An official of the Society called at the Royal Society today to ask for extra copies of certain printed matter attached thereto, and these have been supplied. |
