Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], [Royal Society] |
Date | 23 November 1889 |
Description | Rix mentions that Joseph Norman Lockyer has sent in another paper, making two manuscripts by Lockyer in total, of moderate size and without illustration, for which he asks permission to put into type. He also asks if he could put Sir John Conroy's paper into type, but presumes that Johnston and Carnelley's [Etta Johnston and Thomas Carnelley] should be left for now.
With regard to Dr [Edmund Johnson] Spitta's paper, announced for next time, he mentions that there are eight figures. The simple and inexpensive figures, one to three, are being engraved, but the remaining figures are photographs of instruments, and so perhaps should wait until the paper is voted. Meanwhile, Rix will get an estimate for them. |
