Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Archibald Geikie, [Secretary, Royal Society] |
Date | 30 July 1906 |
Description | Thanks Geikie for his memorandum on McNaught's paper. Is sorry that by accident Geikie's original memo did not go as Harrison intended with the reference form, but it was simply a note proposing that two of the photographs should be reproduced. This is now disposed of by the subsequent recommendation. Encloses printed copies of the Tropical Diseases Minutes, up to the last meeting [not enclosed].
Notes he frightened the Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe] last week, with a demonstration of the fulfilment of his prophecy that the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' new series, would cost twice as much as the old, and the question has consumed a good deal of time. It is difficult to see how they are to go on at this rate of expenditure even if the expenditure on the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]' is materially diminished, of which there is no sign at present. |
