Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to [Jethro Justinian Harris] Teall, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 19 December 1906 |
Description | Henry Woodward has communicated a paper by Miss Dorothea Bate. As Chairman of the Geology Committee, Teall dealt with her previous paper, so Geikie asks him to appoint referees. Presumes Finlay Lorimer Kitchin and E J Newton would do. States that he thinks that such scrappy and disconnected contributions seem out of place either in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' or 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. If she would stick her ground there would be some reason for publishing her results. Such fragmentary notices seem more suited to the Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society or the Geology Magazine. |
