Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor E [Edward] Hull, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 15 January 1909 |
Description | 'My dear Sir, I submitted your letter of December 9, and enclosure relating to the Metric System, at a meeting of the Officers yesterday, held for the purpose of preparing to agenda for the next Council; and I have been desired to tell you that the Officers have already been approached on this subject through another Fellow of the Society at the suggestion of the same person at whose request you have written. The Officers are of opinion that the same considerations would weigh with them as prevented them from taking action when the subject was brought before them six years ago. In these circumstances I am to ask whether you press your request to have the subject again laid before the Council.' |
