Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to S W [William] Crookes, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 12 February 1909 |
Description | 'Dear Sir William, Quite a sheaf of congratulatory telegrams on the Darwin Centenary have come to-day from various places abroad, to from Charkow, one from Christiania, and one from Stockholm Swedish Academy of Sciences. I should be glad to know from you, as Foreign Secretary, whether any action should be taken upon them. It must, I imagine, be thought curious by outside bodies that the Royal Society itself is taking no official notice of the Centenary.' |
